Affordable Structures is a turnkey modular building contractor. With an experienced team of designers, engineers, project managers and field superintendents, we can also serve as general contractor for all aspects of your modular construction process.

Our installation services include permit acquisition, site preparation, footing installation, roofing, masonry, utility connection, the construction of decks, ramps and sidewalks, and more.

If you need a permanent, semi-permanent or on-grade foundation, our modular building installers will use a crane put the module(s) in place. For temporary structures, we can use basic mechanical methods to complete the installation process.

About Permanent Modular Buildings

Modular buildings are “prefabricated†in our factory in sections and then transported to the construction site on flatbed trucks to be placed on a prepared foundation and assembled into a whole building within a few days.

Factory fabrication means there will be minimal disruption on the building site, fewer delays, lower costs, and 50% faster delivery than traditional brick-and-mortar construction.

Built of steel, concrete and wood, modular buildings are built to exceed state and local building codes, the same codes that apply to traditionally built buildings, and comply with all plumbing, electrical and fire safety regulations.

Permanent modular buildings are designed to remain in one place, but they can be easily taken apart and reconfigured for a totally different use, or moved to a new location, all while maintaining the same structural integrity as a new building.

Other major advantages include:

  • Modular buildings can be simple or elaborate and can be designed with exterior finishes such as wood, brick, stucco and siding, and custom architectural features. The modules can stand alone or be combined to create larger structures. They can also be designed as multi-story structures with elevators.
  • Modular buildings are extremely cost-effective. Wood frame modular buildings ranges from $40 to $70 per square foot. Steel framed modular buildings range from $55 to more than $100 per square foot and offer a longer life expectancy (up to 50 years).
  • Modular construction exceeds most energy-code requirements and can satisfy your environmental needs and reduce your energy costs by as much as 10% to 40%. As a member of the U.S. Green Build Council (USGBC), Affordable Structures builds commercial modular buildings that can meet GREEN building standards.

School districts often use modular classrooms to accommodate an overflow of students as cost-effectively as possible.
