- Academy at the Farm Charter School, Dade City, Florida
The Challenges: The school needed a new K-5 educational facility that would withstand the day-to-day abuse of 150 children. The design had to meet the stringent requirements of the local school district, including individual restrooms for each classroom and a permanent foundation with crawl space. The facility had to be operational in a very limited time period.
The Solution: Affordable Structures met all of the school’s financial, aesthetic and functional requirements. We delivered the 9,568 SF building, which included classrooms, restrooms, teachers’ lounge and offices, on schedule and on budget.
- Head Start Program, Jennings, Florida
The Challenges: The client operates a community Head Start program for underprivileged children and needed a durable and aesthetically pleasing permanent facility that would meet the strict guidelines of licensing authorities. They required multiple classroom spaces, offices and a commercial kitchen. The solution had to be affordable and able to last for many years.
The Solution: Affordable Structures collaborated with the client and the project architect to develop a cost-effective solution. The 8,640 SF project featured type IIB non-combustible construction on a permanent foundation with stem wall and a mud, tape and texture interior. A single slope roof with 15-year warranty was installed. The project came in ahead of schedule and on budget, saving the client more than 40% compared to conventional construction.
